Fun and unusual hack for downregulating an overactive nervous system: flossing 😉 The simple act of flossing does two things. A) Bilateral stimulation, which helps to sync the two hemispheres of the brain and redirect some energy in the brain away from the amygdala, and helps to create more coherence in brainwave activity B) Dropping the jaw (which naturally tenses in response to perceived stresses and threats as we "prime to fight") which signals the nervous system that no "fight" is being had and it's ok to relax I share more in the video posted in the Nervous System Group here! https://community.guidely.com/groups/TOMJASINSKI2 Please share any interesting and unusual ways you use to self-regulate! 🤗
